Headache & Migraine Relief in Lake Country

It’s an epidemic of sorts.

Millions of people are impacted on a daily basis.

Driving some people into a state of hopelessness.

No No No…we aren’t talking about COVID-19 here.

We’re talking about headaches and migraines.

They may seem to be a normal issue to a lot of people, myself included at one point, but they are definitely not normal. I used to get about 2-3 headaches a week which I thought was normal. If you follow mainstream media you’d probably think the same since every other commercial is for some sort of medication to mask one problem or another.

I’ve been fortunate enough to not experience my “normal headaches” anymore!

Oftentimes people who experience headaches and migraines aren’t really able to live life to the fullest. There’s always a thought in the back of their mind that they might not be able to follow through on the plans that they have for the day. They have to leave work early or call in sick, they have to miss that recital or sporting event, they can’t make it to hangout with friends…the list goes on and on.

I’m excited to say that people don’t need to live with this fear and sense of hopelessness in the back of their mind. There is a solution that few people have heard about but many people are benefiting from across the country. Before we get into that, let’s go over some statistics.

Let’s Look At The Facts

According to the Migraine Research Foundation, migraines are the 3rd most prevalent illness in the world. It’s estimated that 1 in 4 households has someone who experiences a headache or migraine on a regular basis. Although migraines are most common between the ages of 18 and 44, it is not uncommon for children even to experience them.

I know with my personal experience that as a teenager I experienced headaches 2-3 times a week.

With migraines most people suffer an attack once a twice a month but more than 15 million people have 15 migraine days per month.

A lot of people think that a migraine is just a bad headache but that’s not the case. A migraine is a neurological disease which is usually associated with throbbing head pain but in ⅓ of cases there is no head pain experienced. Oftentimes migraine attacks are usually accompanied by one or more of the following:

  • visual disturbances,
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • dizziness
  • extreme sensitivity to sound, light, touch and smell
  • tingling or numbness in the extremities or face

Migraines not only cost people time and energy but they also have a pretty huge impact on the economy as a whole with an estimated $36 billion annually in the U.S. regarding healthcare and productivity lost! That is absolutely mind blowing!!

One of the saddest stats to me is that a lot of the people who struggle with headaches and migraines don’t seek out treatment from some sort of specialist or try any sort of preventative care.

How Do We Help?

Let’s face it, the majority of the time when people seek us out for care they have already tried a bunch of different things. They may have tried acupuncture, massage, botox injections, neurologist visits, certain diets, the list goes on and on. One thing is usually certain though, they all have this one issue that has never truly been addressed. Oftentimes this issue is attempted to be covered up, especially when it comes to botox injections.

The issue lies in the nervous system.

The purpose of botox injections is to paralyze the nerves…which in turn causes those pain signals to not reach the brain. This is fine and all but that eventually wears off and never really provides any sort of long lasting relief. This is great if you’re looking for some quick relief but you will be forced to continue injections on and on with the possibility of still getting headaches and migraines.

What we do at The Specific Chiropractic Centers is completely different from all of that. We focus on the nervous system and make sure it’s functioning properly. What I tell people when they first come in is that feeling follows function. That once we get the body working how it’s supposed to, then people start to feel a heck of a lot better.

Rather than blocking the signals of the nervous system, we help to ensure that the signals are getting to and from the brain how they are supposed to.

I don’t know about you but I certainly want the messages getting to and from the brain how they are supposed to.

Ultimately you have to make the correct decision for yourself. It’s not up to me to determine what your best bet is regarding headaches and migraines for yourself. What we do at The Specific Chiropractic Centers helps people regularly across the nation. Now maybe you’re not at the point where you are ready to try Chiropractic. I’m here to tell you that is totally fine! Try whatever you think is best for you. I’ve partnered with many other providers that may be a better fit for you and if that’s the case I’d love to send a referral their way.

If you have tried everything there is to try, without getting much relief or resolution then what we do may be just the trick. You might be thinking….it can’t actually be that great or simple right?

I hear that question all the time and the answer is….yes, it can be that great and simple! Our focus is making sure that the body is working at 100%, that those messages are getting to and from the brain how they are supposed to. If you think that what we do might be the right fit for you then don’t hesitate to reach out. At the top corner of our website there is a schedule submission form. Simply fill that out and I’ll get back to you to set up a call and see if what we do could help you and if you’d be a good fit for the office!
