GET ME TO SLEEP!

Not being able to sleep is something that we people mention all the time in the office! This is extremely frustrating for a lot of people as this has huge implications not only on how their day goes but also their health overall. Sleep is something that is necessary for the body in repairing and regenerating cells, organs, muscles, bones, and everything else in-between. Heck being sleep deprived even has implications on your immune system where you might get sick more often than other people!

There are certain pillows we can buy, mattresses to try, supplements to take, and other activities you can do right before bed to help you fall asleep. Some of these work for some people but I meet tons of people who still struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep. Now sure this is fine for a little bit but when you are doing this for years and years it becomes exhausting, but what can actually fix this?

For a lot of people they think that they will forever be like this and there is no way to fix this issue going on.

I’m here to tell you that there is a solution.

Have you ever had an adrenaline rush before? What happens?

You usually start breathing faster, heart beats faster, get a little hot and sweaty, and
you feel amped up!

The reason you feel this way is because the sympathetic nervous system has taken over. A lot of times people can be stuck in this system, meaning it is hard for them to actually rest and relax.

When the nervous system is stuck in this system it doesn’t feel like an adrenaline rush but it is doing the same thing, making it nearly impossible to fall asleep. At The Specific Chiropractic Centers we help people get to sleep all the time. We do have the post-adjustment resting suite where people go to rest after an adjustment. But actually….by working with the nervous system we help balance everything out, taking the body from this fight or flight mode, back into the resting and digestion mode it’s supposed to be in. Once we accomplish this people are able to fall asleep and stay asleep much easier than before.
